Heaven

Just as there is a Hell, there is a Heaven.  Compared with Hell there is not much written about Heaven in the Bible.

The Bible tells us that Heaven was created by God and is God’s home.

Revelation 10:6 “…and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it..”

Matthew 6:9 “Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”

Heaven is a holy place and has a crystal sea, golden streets, angels, seraphim, amazing beauty, and God’s throne room. And if you think we will be doing nothing in Heaven, think again.  The Bible tells us that our bodies will be changed and we will serve God forever. Our lives in heaven will be a thousand times more fulfilling and interesting than they are down here.  We will be serving the living God, a God we love and want to please.  Heaven is also a place of no more wars, pain or any kind of suffering. There will be no poverty. There will be no evil or sin and God himself will wipe away all tears from our eyes. (Revelation 21:4, 11, 19, 21)

Revelation 7:16-17(NIV), “Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

The Bible tells only the righteous will be able to enter Heaven and the wicked will not be allowed to enter.

2 Peter 3:13, “But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

Revelation 21:27, “But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.”

Like God, His dwelling place (heaven) is almost impossible to describe.  I am looking forward to the day I walk into Heaven.

Where is it? [1]

Is Heaven Real? Yes, Once when asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21). “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21). Where is your treasure? Have you personally accepted Jesus’ free gift of eternal life in heaven? Do you believe you are a sinner (Romans 3:23), that Jesus died for your sins (John 3:16), that He was buried, He rose again 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – just for YOU? He wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Do you believe this in your heart and accept it by faith? If so, pray a prayer similar to this: “Father, it is my heart’s desire to go to heaven, a place You have prepared for those who make Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. I accept You as my Savior now. I believe that You died for my sin, was buried, and rose again for me. Please forgive my sins and help me to live a life that would bring You glory. Guide me as I read Your Word, the Bible, so I may better understand more about You. Cleanse my heart and make it pure as I trust and obey You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.”
